We Are Not Part Of Any Interim Government Plans, Our Demands Are Clear -Labour Party



The Labour Party has stated it clearly that neither of the Party or any leader of the Party is part of the purported interim government plan as was alledged by the Department Of State Services DSS.

This statement was made on Friday by the Labour Party national spokesperson Yunusa Tanko, when he addressed newsmen in Abuja.

According to him, the Labour Party are not a lawless Party, adding that the demands of the Party as regards the February 25 presidential election are very clear, and that is what they are focusing on.

Recall that the Department Of State Services DSS,had on Wednesday 29th March 2023, in a press statement raised an alarm that top politicians are plotting to impose an interim government in a bid to forestall the handover ceremony of Tinubu as the president of Nigeria in May 29.

According to the statement from DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, the secret police have identified some plans by politicians to impose an interim government warning that the DSS cannot allow that to happen.

Reacting to the DSS statement, Dr Yunusa Tanko ,Labour Party’s spokesman, said that the party can not involved themself in planning any rebellion or conspiracy against the government.

His Words “We are not affiliated with any preparations for an uprising in any way. he declared on Channels Television’s Lunch Time Politics on Thursday.

“But what I’m saying is that we would defend and defend the Nigerian security apparatus to safeguard the interests of the Nigerian people following the legal provisions that state that you have the right to protest when you’re in pain.

“That is what we would do, but we would not in any way aid an uprising.

“On the February 25 presidential election,we have made our demands very clear, and we have also approached the court to seek a redress, and that we must do peacefully.

“Presidential candidate Peter Obi has continued to preach against any violence, and have continued to caution his supporters refrain from any thing that will lead to violence, while they are pursuing to recover their mandate.he said
