The Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma has sacked Chief Ford Ozumba Imo Commissioner for Labour and productivity with immediate effect.

This was contained in a press statement released by Honourable Declan Emelumba Imo Commissioner for information and strategy on Saturday.

The statement did not state the reason for the removal, but stated that it is express order from the governor of the state.

Recall that Imo State government and the Nigerian Labour Congress Imo State branch has been in a disagreement which has led to NLC leadership in Imo to direct all workers in the State to embark on an indefinite strike in the State.

UZODIMMA REMOVES FORD OZUMBA, COMMISSIONER FOR LABOUR AND PRODUCTIVITY

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has approved the immediate removal of Chief Ford Ozumba, the State Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, from office.

In a terse statement on Saturday, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba said, “Accordingly, His Excellency further directs that Chief Ozumba hands over to the Permanent Secretary of his Ministry with immediate effect.”
