The National Chairman of South West Agenda For Asiwaju (SWAGA’23) a former lawmaker, Senator Dayo Adeyeye has said that the President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not marginalise any region in the cause of his adminstration.
According to him the incoming President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will give all Nigerians a sense of belonging.
He gave this assurance in a chat with some journalists in Abuja on Thursday.
Senator Dayo spoke against the backdrop of fears of possible marginalisation of some groups or parts of the country that voted against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate in the last presidential election.
Adeyeye declared that every part of the country will be integrated and accommodated in the incoming administration, regardless of differences in political leanings, ethnicity, religion, gender or age.
According to him, those who voted against the APC and its candidate did no wrong by doing so, stressing that they only exercised their rights to freedom of choice and association as guaranteed by the Nigerian constitution.
Adeyeye said: “These fundamental rights include the freedom to choose which political party or candidates to vote during elections. These rights are sacrosanct and inalienable.
“Therefore, in a democratic setting, it would amount to a violation of these fundamental rights for any leader to discriminate against any group or individuals for freely exercising their inalienable rights.
“As a consummate democrat, Asiwaju Tinubu respects the rights of every citizen to freedom of choice and association as guaranteed by the Nigerian constitution.
