The Presidential candidate of Labour Party in the just concluded February 25 presidential election Mr Peter Obi has called on his supporters and Nigerians to remain calm and not protest.
Peter Obi made this statement in post on his official Facebook page on Wednesday after the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has declared the presidential candidate of APC Asiwaju Bola Tinubu winner of the election.
In what has been described as a deliberate and daylight rubbery by some quarters of the country especially the youths who felt betrayed by the outcome of the election,has been calling on INEC to cancel the election and conduct a fresh one that will be free and fair.
Professor Mamood Yakub the INEC chairman, had announced Tinubu who has already been issued with the certificate of return, polled a total vote of 8million to defeat Atiku Abubarka candidate of PDP and LP candidate Peter Obi.
In his post, on Wednesday,Obi caution his supporters to be calm and persistent and not protest.
He further promised to address the people sooner on the way forward.
“Our Vice presidential candidate Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed is addressing an international press conference at the Labour Party Headquarters in Abuja. I intend to address Nigerians and the international community shortly.
