Photos: Rwandan President Names Stadium After Pele.

The president of Rwanda President Paul Kagame has renamed the newly renovated Kigali Stadium to Kigali Pele Stadium after Brazilian and world football legend Grazino Pele who die in January 2023 after a long battled heart related disease.

This gesture by the Rwandan government is in compliance with the plea made by World Football Governing Body FIFA, asking countries to name anybody of their National stadium, after Pele who was described as a football Icon.

President Kagame, renamed the stadium in the present of the FIFA President Gianni Infantino during the 73rd FIFA Congress in Rwanda.

The unveiling ceremony was done in the presence the Rwandan first lady, Jeannette Kagame, and other FIFA council board including the President of the Cameronian Football Association Samuel E’too.
