The Presidential candidate of Labour Party Mr Peter Obi has expressed sadness of the gruesome murder of Christopher Eleghu a House Of Assembly Candidate of Labour Party in Imo State by an unknown assassin.
News filtered in the Mr Christopher Eleghu a House Assembly Candidate of Labour Party in Onuimo State constituency was attacked and killed by an assassin in his compound on Friday 16th December 2022 and his house,cars and other properties was set ablaze by the gunmen.
Reacting to the sad news,Obi said that the killing of Eleghu violates the spirit of security and civility and also the recently signed peace accord.
He also charged the Imo State police command and other security forces both State and federal to ensure that those behind the killing are uncovered.
“I am deeply disturbed by the evidently targeted killing of the Labour Party State House of Assembly Candidate for Onuimo LGA in Imo state, Hon. Christopher Eleghu at his home. His house and cars were reportedly set ablaze.
“I condemn these heinous acts in the strongest possible terms. Such acts violate our spirit of security, civility and the recently signed Peace Accord. Federal and State security agencies must work assiduously to uncover those behind this killing.
