Old Naira Swap: Ganduje Draggs Federal Government To Supreme Court

The Governor of Kano state Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has dragged the Federal Government of Nigeria to Supreme Court over the moves by Federal Government and the central bank of Nigeria to stop the use of old naira notes.

The suit was filed by the Attorney-General of Kano State on Thursday, making it a total of five governors who have dragged the federal government to the supreme court over the old naira swap policy.

Recall that the suit was initially filed by the government of Zamfara,Kogi and Kaduna before the supreme court which the apex court gave it’s ruling stoping the central bank of Nigeria,and the federal government from enforcing the February 10th deadline pending the final judgement of the suit on February 15th.

Kano state government in the suit is also asking the court to put a stop on the Central Bank of Nigeria’s policy on cash withdrawal limit pending the determination of the suit.
