The Northwest APC Chairmen Forum has endorsed the choices of Sen. Godswill Akpabio and Sen. Barau Jibrin as the President and Deputy President of the Senate, respectively.
Addressing newsmen on behalf of his colleagues in Kano on Sunday, the Jigawa APC Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Sani, described the choice as a perfect step taken to ensure good democratic governance in the country.
Sani said the President-elect, Sen. Bola Tinubu, has done a wonderful job full of maturity and nationality colouration that would change the narrative of religious/ethnic politics in the country.
In another development, report reaching DAILYNEWSLINK has it that 37 APC Senators-Elect has completely rejected the choice of Senator God’sWill Akpabio for senate President by the President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to our correspondent, the Senators insisted on the former governor of Abia State Senator Orji Uzo Kalu for senate President and Abdul Aziz Yari as a deputy respectively.
The Senators also warned the president-elect to be neutral in the selection of the senate president and speakership position of the national assembly.
