Naira Scarcity; Give Me 7 Days To Fix Things -Buhari To Nigerians

Muhammadu Buhari the president of Nigeria has pleaded to Nigerians to be patient with him and give him seven days to resolve the issue of the scarcity of the new naira notes in the country.

President Buhari made this plea when the APC governors forum led by Yobe state governor Mai Mallam Buni paid him a visit as regards the scarcity of the new naira notes and other currency redesign policy embarked by the central bank of Nigeria on Friday at the Presidential Villa Abuja

Speaking to the governors, President Buhari acknowledge the suffering and untold hardship Nigerians are currently facing which was caused by the scarcity of the new naira notes and by extension the central bank currency redesign programs.

President Buhari promised Nigerians to expect drastic change within the next seven days before the February 10th deadline giving for old ones cease being a legal tender.

“I am aware of the cash shortages and hardship being faced by people and businesses, on account of the Naira redesign. I want to assure that we are doing everything to resolve these issues. Nigerians should expect significant improvements between now and the February 10 deadline.

“I met with a delegation of Governors today, on the matter. All the complaints about the execution of the currency change are being seriously looked into. I will ensure that everything is resolved in a lasting manner, and we will all enjoy the long-term benefits of the decision.
