Malawi President Reduces His Cabinet Members From 33 To 27.
Malawian President Lazarus Chakwera has announced a reduction in his cabinet from 33 to 27.
Chakwera, who had promised to name a new and leaner cabinet, appointed seven new faces including an opposition lawmaker.
Senior party members from the ruling coalition were also left out of the new cabinet.
The reshuffle was expected following reports that a number of ministers were implicated in a corruption investigation.
