The Nigeria’s President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has reportedly set up a reconciliatory committee,to reconcile him with the other presidential candidates who contested the election on February 25.
This was confirmed by the Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said a Committee of Elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would soon begin to meet with other contestants of the President-elect in a bid to assuage their loss in the just concluded poll.
Akeredolu stressed that every aggrieved person will be met for reconciliation and a way to move the country forward.
“The President-elect has set up committees to meet with the gentlemen who contested in the election for us to start the healing process. I belong to one of the committees. We are going to meet them and appeal to them so that we can work together,” the governor stated.
Recall that Tinubu polled 8,794,726 and was declared President-Elect on Wednesday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) while Atiku Abubarka and Peter Obi came second and third respectively in the election.
On the other hand, the spokesperson presidential campaign council of PDP, Senator Dino Melaye has told the All Progressive Congress APC not to rejoice in their victory, as PDP will do everything within the legal framework to recover their mandate which he alleged was stolen from them by the APC.
Dino Melaye said this on Wednesday in a statement after the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC issued a certificate of return to Tinubu as the President-elect of Nigeria.
