Old Naira Notes Extension; It Is All About Their Selfish Interest – Peter Okoye Blast Rep Members

Singer Peter Okoye of Psquare of popular Nigerian twin hop hop singers has blasted the Nigerian members of House Of Representatives following their continued calling for the extension of the deadline of returning of the old naira notes.

Recall that the members of House Of Representatives have been in a running battle with the governor of the central bank of Nigeria Godwin Emefiele after he refused to adhere to their proposed 6months extension of the old naira notes.

The house of Rep members on Tuesday,26th January 2023 issued a warrant of arrest to the CBN governor after he failed to appear before the house on four occasions.

After various calls for the CBN governor to extend the deadline of the old naira notes, Emefiele,after a meeting with president Muhammadu Buhari extended the deadline to further 10 days.

Reacting to the 10 days extension,the members of House Of Representatives rejected the 10 days extension of CBN saying that the policy is a ploy to frustrate poor Nigerians insisting on their previous 6months proposed extension date.

Reacting to the refusal of the house of representatives to the 10 days extension of the old naira notes, Peter Okoye took to his Twitter handle to accused the Rep members of being selfish.
