International Criminal Court Issues Arrest Warrant To Russian President Vladimir Putin
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin over allegations of war crimes in Ukraine.
ICC Judges said Putin was allegedly responsible for unlawfully deporting Ukrainian children and transfer of people from Ukrainian territories to Russia, which is regarded as a war crime.
Meanwhile the Russian Government in Moscow Russian capital has denied committing such atrocities during Russian Ukraine war.
The arrest warrant was issued in a press statement by the ICC judges on Friday 17th March 2023.
The Statement Reads
“The crimes were allegedly committed in Ukrainian occupied territory at least from 24 February 2022. There are reasonable grounds to believe that Mr Putin bears individual criminal responsibility for the aforementioned crimes,”
Also the judges equally issued an arrest warrant for Maria Lvova-Belova, Russia’s children’s commissioner, over the same crime allegations.
