First step to take in setting up Google analytics in your website,is to sign up for a free account with Google by visiting

In order to collect data and see report from your website, you need to setup a tracking code on your website.

The process of installing the tracking code may differ depending on the type of website you are using.

After creating your Google Analytics account,a tracking code will automatically be created for you.
