Imo State Government Officially Announced The Death Ohanaeze Ndigbo President Obiozor.

Imo State government has officially announced the death of the president general of Igbo Apex Socio-Cultural Group Ohanaeze Ndigbo Professor George Obiozor.
The news was announced by the governor of the state Senator Hope Uzodinma on Thursday 29th December 2022.
Recalled that DAILYNEWSLINK has earlier reported the death of George Obiozor was disclosed to our correspondence by a chieftain of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
According to the source,Obiozor died on 26th December 2022 after a hearth related illness.
Though the news was not made public as the family is yet to make an official announcement of the death which has caused confusion as regards the health status of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
Confirming the demise, governor Hope Uzodinma described Obiozor as a renowned academic, an exceptional diplomat, a statesman and a tenacious patriot.

He also said that the death of Obiozor is a huge loss to Imo State,South East,Ndigbo and Nigeria at large.
IMO STATE GOVERNMENT OBITUARY ANNOUNCEMENT
On behalf of the Government and people of Imo State, I, Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Governor of Imo State, sorrowfuly announce the passage of a great Son of Imo State and Nigeria, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, worldwide, Prof George OBIOZOR.
A renowned academic, an exceptional diplomat, a statesman and a tenacious patriot, Prof George Obiozor passed on recently after a brief illness.
The death of this foremost Igbo leader and former NIGERIA’S ambassador to the United States and the State of Israel, is a big loss to Imo State, the South East and the entire Nigeria. I have no doubt that both Nigeria and the international community will miss his profound intellectual contributions and wise counsel on national and global issues.
His burial arrangements will be announced in due course by the family
May his great and gentle soul rest in peace.
