I Am In Guber Race To Win ~Samdaddy Assures.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the November 11, 2023, governorship election in Imo State, Senator Samuel Anyanwu (Samdaddy), has said that he is ever ready to lead the charge to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress in the State.

Samdaddy who spoke during a no-holds-barred meeting with members of the Imo PDP New Media Directorate at the party’s State Secretariat in Owerri on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, said that he was too strong a politician for anyone to consider his ambition a joke.

The PDP National Secretary was responding to a question regarding the rumour that he was being sponsored by the State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.

He said: “How is it that possible? When I built my first house in Owerri, Uzodimma was nowhere. I am a politician with a rich background. I have been LGA Chairman twice, and a House of Assembly member twice. I went to the 8th Senate which Uzodimma was a member of and dominated. I was the star of that Assembly.

“Today, I am the National Secretary of PDP in Nigeria and all over the world, the main opposition party in the country. It is unimaginable that a politician of high standing like me is being sponsored by someone I am better than. Someone who has never won an election and who became Governor by stealing the mandate of PDP”

In another dig at the Governor, Samdaddy accused him of reducing the Deputy Governor’s office but said that his administration will do the opposite.

He added that his running-mate Hon. Jones Onyereri is a dependable and efficient ally with whom he has joined forces to chase Uzodimma out of the government house and steer the affairs of Imo better.

“Jones Onyereri has a lot to bring to the table. He will not be the kind of Deputy Governor who only represents the Governor at burial ceremonies and maternity visits. As the Governor, Jones will represent me at National Executive Council and Economic meetings,” he said.
