Not many knew this story especially the Gen-Z’s but this is one of the most heartbreaking and inspiring story in world football.
It’s a story of Jean Pierre Adams, a super talented defender who was a rock in his playing days. He was born in 1948 in Senegal. Then migrated to France at a very young age.
He played professionally for Nimes, OGC Nice and Paris Saint Germain (PSG). He also had 22 caps for the French national team between 1972 and 1976.
Everything was moving fine for the super talented French man untill one day he slept and never woke up till date.
In 1982, at age 34, Adams went to the hospital for a routine Knee surgery but a medical error took him into a vegetative state until he finally passed.
An intern anaesthesiologist made mistakes while administering medication to Jean Pierre Adams, and this led the football star to comma because his brain was damaged due to lack of oxygen.
He never woke up from that comma untill he died in 2021.
This means he spent 39 years in comma. In all of these, the football world moved on, teammates moved on too, but guess who never left?
Yes, Bernadette, Jean Pierre Adam’s wife. She never left, and even refused to disconnect life support from her husband who has been in comma for years.
The lovely woman who showed what loyalty truly means, believed her husband was going to wake up one day, but unfortunately he didn’t.
