The governor of Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has blasted the governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike over his alledge support of the presidential candidate of APC Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Samuel Ortom who is among the aggrieved G-5 governors of PDP with Wike as their leader, said that what the Rivers State governor is doing is nothing but deceiving Tinubu adding that the people of Rivers State will not leave Peter Obi to support Tinubu.

He made this statement on Wednesday while addressing the Igbo community assembly in the state.

Ortom further stated that the initial agreement of the G-5 governors was a total support for the presidential candidate of Labour Party Peter Obi but Wike deviated and went and met with Tinubu secretly without them knowing.

According to Ortom, the only reason why Wike is not openly supporting Tinubu is that he knows that Rivers State people will turn against him once he makes an open declaration to support Tinubu.

“Wike is my friend and will always be my friend but we don’t agree politically anymore. We agreed to support Peter Obi but he went and met with Tinubu behind us.

“He is only deceiving Tinubu because Rivers State will never leave Peter Obi to vote for Bola Tinubu. Atiku will even get more votes than Tinubu in Rivers State.

“Wike refused to support Bola Tinubu openly because he knows that Rivers people will turn against him.

“Wike believed that Buhari would rig election for Tinubu but he can see clearly now that things are going against him.

“We know Peter Obi is popular in both Rivers State and Benue State. Even if I refuse to support Peter Obi today, he will still win Benue State.

“I can bet you, the only state Bola Tinubu will win among the states of G5 governors is Oyo State.
