Writing a blog  have been around since the dawn of the internet, and they’re still one of the best ways to connect with your audience online. No matter what kind of business you have, blogging can be an extremely powerful tool to both acquire new customers and share news about your business or industry with people who already trust you and want to hear from you. While it might seem intimidating at first, starting a blog doesn’t have to be hard at all! If you follow this step-by-step guide on how to start a blog, you’ll be running your own successful website in no time.

Blog

Step 1-Decide On Your Topic;

No matter what you want to write about, choosing a topic is crucial. Make sure that it’s something you love and care about, because if you’re passionate about it, your readers will be too. Look through your favorite blogs for inspiration, or try Googling topics for blogs. A good place to start is by brainstorming all of your interests. List everything out, even if it seems silly – for example: movies, exercise and puppies.

Step 2- Pick A Domain Name:

You can find domains for sale through sites like GoDaddy. You can also use Fivrr, if you’re on a budget. Just make sure your domain is short and easy to spell. Longer domains can be harder to remember.

Step 3- Set Up Hosting;

Hosting is simple and not expensive, but it’s very important if you want your website to be accessible by others. There are many free hosting options out there that can work for basic sites, but generally speaking it’s better (and safer) to use a paid host for more complex websites. The web hosts I recommend are Digital Ocean and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Below you’ll find more detailed instructions on how set up hosting on both of these platforms.

Step 4 – Create Your First Blog Post;

It is very important that you create your first post. It could be an introduction, About Me page, or about one of your professional interests. A short description of why you are passionate about it will show in your writing and how passionate you are about it.

Step 5 – Join Blogging Communities

One of your most valuable assets when you first start out is an experienced mentor, someone who has already been through what you are going through now. Someone who can answer your questions about how to monetize your site or grow your audience. And, you will find these people in blogging communities. By joining (and participating in) blogging communities you can meet hundreds of experienced bloggers who are eager and willing to help new bloggers like yourself.

Step 6 – Create An RSS Feed For Your Blog:

RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, is a really simple way of sharing content. It basically takes your content and makes it available via XML feed on an URL so that people can subscribe to it. Once you have your feed set up, all your subscribers will get new posts as soon as they’re published.

Step 7 – Use Social Media

You have already got a number of social media accounts set up, so now all you need to do is use them. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn are your main channels. But don’t forget about niche channels like Pinterest or Snapchat where your target audience might be hanging out.by sharing your post in various platforms,it will help in marketing the blog and attract more visitors to the site

Step 8 – Tell Others About Your Blog:

It is time to tell other people about your blog, so that they can find it. You’ll want to spread your net as wide as possible, because you want your ideas and words out there for others to read, comment on, and learn from. A great way of doing that is with social media: Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn all make great homes for blogs.

Step 9 – Give Yourself  Weekly Deadlines;

Remember our deadline list? For every week, write down 3 deadlines you want to reach and make sure they get checked off on your weekly list. If one of them is not completed, put an X next to it and do not move on until it’s complete. Once all three are checked off, cross them out. This will ensure that you get everything done in a timely manner and also gives yourself some motivation each day knowing you’re working towards crossing out at least 1 thing from your list each day.

Step 10 – Promote Your Blog Posts On Social Media;

Let’s face it, if no one sees your posts, no one will know about them. The goal is to get your post in front of as many people as possible, so don’t be afraid to promote your own content! share your post on every page or platform you belong, continue sharing until your blog become popular that it can generate traffic on its own.
